The Red House Mystery by A. A. Milne

The Red House Mystery by A. A. Milne

    by

    Since Dec 12, 2023 00:00 UTC

The Red House Mystery is a novel by A. A. Milne about the mysterious death of Robert Ablett inside the house of his brother, Mark Ablett while there was a party taking place. It’s a whodunit novel with a simple story that’s skilfully told. Milne is best known for his works about Winnie the Pooh, but before he became famous for telling stories about this teddy bear, he also garnered praise for “The Red House Mystery.” The novel was set during a house party in the mansion home of Mark Ablett known as the “red house.” Mark had many guests in the party including a widow and his daughter, an actress and a young man named Bill. While the party was going on, Mark’s long-lost brother Robert arrived in the house and shortly after was found dead. Then suddenly the guests noticed that Mark had disappeared. Anthony Gillingham, a very interesting man who just went to the house to call on his friend Bill acted as the “investigator” to the crime. The two “detectives,” Antony and Bill went on to “investigate” the crime and find out who committed it. It will be up to the readers to categorize who among them is Watson and who is Holmes. Milne did an excellent work of telling the story in a very light and entertaining way. Readers will like this book not because of originality or a complicated plot that’s found in other mystery novels. They’ll enjoy reading it because of the interesting characters and the humour contained in the story. This is a good read for people who are looking for a mystery novel that’s a light hearted enjoyable book to read.

    Moonskin

    by

    Since Jan 13, 2016 14:43 UTC

“Space is the cure to careless savagery, to stagnant two-party politics, to the fear that condemns visionary science to the dusty shelves of oblivion.” Franklin Kline stands poised to unite humanity as he extends our astral empire to Saturn. But a coup d’état 300 years in the making ignites the turf, and a firestorm of unrest sweeps through the solar system. Astronauts marooned en route to Titan watch helplessly as a tyrannical tycoon seizes the throne of humanity. Wounded and shaken, Kline’s survival depends on Eta Porter, but she conceals ambitions of her own. Few turfside dreamers dare to challenge this regime. But spacefaring humans—humans not of Earth—resist. Moonskin is the story of a forsaken planet, one man who will stop at nothing to escape it, and two moonborn rogues who can never go home again. For additional information, visit spaceisthecure.com. Moonskin is also available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

    Earthling Lotus

    Earthling Lotus

    by

    Since Feb 4, 2019 16:00 UTC

Hello! Welcome to the Earthling Lotus podcast. My name is Lauren, and this is the podcast where we discuss anything and everything in-between within this experience we call…life. (as well as hear the stories of other creatives and artists along the way.) So I hope you’re ready to create a life that you love, and learn to embody the most authentic version of yourself. Let the journey begin… “Earthling” represents all of the living beings, organisms, and plants that inhabit planet Earth here with us humans. “Lotus” represents that all Earthlings are constantly changing, evolving, growing, and expanding in every way, shape, and form to become the very best version of themselves; embodying a sense of love and happiness from the very depths of their being out to every part of this universe, along with gratitude for everything and life itself. This also speaks for those of whom have dealt with immense struggle and darkness throughout parts of their lives, and then come to a point in which their soul is awakened and transforms into a being full of light and love; just as a lotus starts out down in the depths of dark water and soil and then emerges out into the world full of radiance and beauty despite what it may have taken to get there. So, together, Earthling Lotus represents the ever-changing, evolving, transformative beings that we all embody as a collective consciousness. we are one. All earthlings working together in unity for Earth to thrive, which in turn allows us to survive. Each and every being on Earth is here for a reason, and we all are meant to grow and live our own purpose, our own journey, on our own path of life. Throughout the twists, turns, ups, downs, ebbs, and flows, it’s the realization that everything happens for a reason, and that we are always right where we are meant to be, that is the essence of Earthling Lotus.
